I would like to lower my action a little on my Sterling. On the FAQ sec. it tells you how to do it. I want to know if this is something that I should try do do myself if I follow the directions, or if should I have a tech do it. I have had other basses(Gibson) with a different truss rod adjustment and would not attempt adjusting it myself. However, the MM uses a wheel type adj and looks easier. Please respond with any experiences. thanks.

as long as you make pretty small turns (1/4 turn at a time) you should be ok. so make a small adjustment (which goes a long way), make sure youre still in tune, play it, see how u like it, give it a few minutes to settle and see what u think... and repeat

just dont turn the wheel too much and you'll be cool

The truss rod adjustments should be a sticky

I always forget which way to look down the bass to determine CW and CCW so this is what I remember:

When the right handed bass is hanging in the playing position

Turning the trusswheel:

Towards the floor raises the board (kinda rhymes and that's how I remember it).
