I would like to lower my action a little on my Sterling. On the FAQ sec. it tells you how to do it. I want to know if this is something that I should try do do myself if I follow the directions, or if should I have a tech do it. I really hate to have to wait 2 weeks to get it back. I have had other basses with a different truss rod adjustment (Gibson)and would not attempt adjusting it myself. However, the MM uses a wheel type adj and looks easier. Please respond with any experiences. thanks.

A: The truss rod wheel design was designed so any musician can easily make minor adjustments to the neck. Any tool such as an allen wrench, nail, small screw driver, etc. that will fit into the wheel hole will work. Turn the wheel a quarter turn at a time then check by playing your bass. Clockwise will raise the fingerboard.

I'm sure you read this in the FAQ ... but take note to the word "Any musician can easily make minor adjustments"

hope this helps :)
