Im assuming turn to the right to add less relief and turn to the left (loosen) to add move relief , bow right ?
This is if Im looking at the guitar from the bridge side up to the neck .

btw I couldnt do a search in this forum just for truss rod or truss rod adjustment due to it being under the 4 word minimum , you guys might want to change that seems dumb .

Try going to the Peavey website and download the Wolfgang owners manual. It describes the procedure for adjusting the neck relief. The procedure is the same on the Axis.

Lets see what we find if we enter the word "truss" in the search engine (I'll trust I'm intelligent enough to discern the rod from the underwear in this forum)...

well there's this thread, with a very nice and detailed post by nobozos

and there's this thread with a message from me that explains why you can't really get the advice you need about truss rod adjustments in a newsgroup

Sure, the lefty loosey rule applies, but truss-rod adjustment is more art than science. If you screw it up, you can destroy your neck, so - in my opinion - it's a good idea to do two things: get a good book on guitar repair that explains the process in detail, and get friendly with a good tech who can help you develop the eye and the feel you need to do it well.

good luck...

thanks mr smugass now try putting in
truss rod in the search and see the error message I get when I did a search . It is a "truss rod" not a "truss" I still think you should be able to search for truss rod .

Also note I did not ask how to go about doing a neck setup or how does adjusting the truss rod affect other factors such as action etc.
All I wanted answered is does the truss rod tighten in and loosen in the same way as necks with the adjustment near the head stock , thats all period .

And your link did get me that answer so thanks for that much at least and this post by

Turning it clockwise should tighten the rod and straighten the neck (less relief). Turning it counterclockwise should loosen the rod causing it to bend with the pull of the strings.

Is all I wanted to know ,

cheers.

Keep replacing neck.....

I have had two necks now on this guitar.... and it's still a problem. The neck bows each time. Apparently something to do with the soft wood on the back being exposed and not finished. I keep the guitar in a temperature controlled environment (I've been playing for 20 years).

The first neck lasted just about a year. The second neck lasted less than a few months. I've been on the phone with Ernie Ball - and have had the guitar sent back as well. They try to go thru truss adjustments....but eventually, it won't "turn" anymore. I haven't specifically looked each time for these "stress" cracks I keep reading about, but something definitely isn't right. The last time I sent the guitar in.....it took quite a while. I felt like they "rushed" it and "found" me a neck in stock - since it was going to take too long to have one built. They told me the "kiln" drying time on the early Petrucci models was incorrectly set and this resulted in quite a few number of guitars "bowing". Well, I wonder if I didn't somehow get some left over "bowing" neck since I needed it back and it was 3 weeks past the promised time I would have it.

I have always held the highest regard for Ernie Ball, until recently. The writing is on the wall for them. Back to the Les Paul and the Strat.
