When does one know whether to adjust the string action by adjusting the trussrod or by adjusting the saddles on the bridge? The EB Frequently Asked Questions just mention trussrod adjustments not bridge adjustments.
Need your help MusicMan forum members!

Do a search here or in the guitar form for "setup". Basically, you need to adjust the truss rod first, as detailed in the FAQ. Once you've got the action set, then you adjust the bridge height to suit.

fret buzz < 12th fret = rod adjustment
fret buzz > 12th fret = saddle adjustment

there are other variables, this is a general guideline
that works for me most of the time

EBMM have made these adjustments a "no-brainer" for me, It is designed to save anyone money and time so that they can do it them selves without removing the neck or having to dig an allen wrench into a black hole and feel for the bolt.
the EBMM design is genius to say the least

I still think Gav's posts should be at the top of this forum or the whole thread. I saved it as a text file and will offer it to anyone. Why?

Begin paste>>>>

Neck relief isn't a dialed in measurement. If anyone says relief has to be, for example, .015 is pure nonsense. It depends on the instrument and the players touch. No two instruments are the same. Same with the player of the instrument. Everybody plays with a different feel and touch. Likewise with string height.

(Quoting RodTrussbroken or Gav whom deserves a big hug from us all.)

Not one person has ever said it better than that.

IMHO
