hello, I haven't been here since summer, so it's been a while.

I've been trying to scrape together funds to upgrade from my Squier p-bass to a bongo 5, I had to settle for an ibanez sr405, but, I can finally start saving again for a bongo.

I was thinking blue pearl with an abolone pick guard.or maybe desert gold with abalone or black ice. or flat black with one of the mentioned pick guards. does anyone know where online I could order one? or if guitar center regularly stocks some of these options?

If I get enough money for 2 I wass going to try and finish one in chameleon paint, which is used on cars, does anyone know how well this adheres to wood or other paints?

sorry for the stupid questions and immature wording.

GC online/Musician's friend have the blue (which I believe is the pearl blue) with a standard black pg. You can order whatever pg you want straight from EBMM or from a local dealer.
You can also try some of the other "bass" stores, like BassCentral and BassNorthwest (I have purchased from both with great results), Chuck Levins and our very own Bassplyr (Doug @ http://www.daddyosmusicshack.com/) is an EBMM dealer too.

As far as th paint goes, it is all in the prep work. To get a nice durable finish you are going to have to knock all of the shine off. There are short cuts and "industrial" ways to get around all of this but in a diy situtation it is all about surface prep.
