Just to make sure I'm right, you lower the action on a sub1 trem model by using an allen wrench of the two studs at the bridge?

I feel really dumb for asking it but ya :p

I would take it in for a proper setup. You would lower action by the individual saddles but have to be sure to keep the radial curve....

I have set up all my guitars in the past I was just a little hesitant as the allen key studs were under the low and high E strings. Wanted to make sure just to be on the safe side thanks everyone.

If I'm not mistaken, EBMM have suggested a truss rod adjustment as an easy and quick way of lowering your action, so you might want to try that first.

If you've already done that and are looking for something further, then the next step would be the saddles.

Trust Tommy on this. He knows what he's talking about.

I will try out what tomym suggested thanks:D I'd rather lower the action from the bridge as opposed to the truss rod.

But if the truss rod needs an adjustment then lowering the saddles could be futile-it will have to be done anyway and you'll have to raise the saddles back up later. If you don't know how to check the neck for relief or backbow have someone show you. A truss rod adjustment is pretty simple and a key somponent to a great playing guitar.

not necessarily.....

Tommy, could you expound on this a little? Did you mean

"not necessarily -
1. take it in for a set-up
2. lower action with individual saddles
3. be sure to keep the radius

the truss rod should be properly adjusted first . that will usually get u where u wanna be. its very easy to do.

it's not possible for me to tell you what to do to the guitar if i don't have the guitar in my hands to evaluate .....

if you are looking at the truss rod wheel from the bridge.........turning the wheel clockwise will lower the action. turning the wheel counter-clockwise will raise the action. & make a note of where the wheel is before you start.
