First off, this thread isn't intended to put down any other brand of tuner. If you have another brand and you like it, then all is right for you and your tuner. Cheers. Rock on.

Now then, in a recent thread about tuner recommendations ShaneV posted a little clip of the Sonic Research ST-200 Strobe Tuner.
YouTube - Strobo Stomp II VS Turbo Tuner ST-200

I'd like to personally thank him again for that. Many thanks man!

I've been in the market for a good strobe tuner for quite a while, and was leaning towards buying a Peterson or an old Conn strobe tuner. I've had difficulty in intontating my guitars. Granted, I haven't had the best of tuner to do it with. But that's all changed. I just got a new Sonic Research ST-200 and I couldn't be happier. It's the best tuner I've ever used or seen. I restrung my Sub1 Special and got the strings stretched and plugged into the ST-200, and in less than 5 minutes I had the beast intonated perfectly. It has never sounded so good. This tuner is so fast and accurate it's amazing. Easy to see, easy to use, fast, extremely accurate, true-bypass. It also came with free shipping and preloaded with a new 9 volt battery.
The cat's meow of tuners.
If you are considering a new tuner, I'd highly recommend getting this one.

That's it.

Jim, glad to hear that it's as good as it looked in the video. I'm sure I'll rationalize buying one despite the fact that I have two perfectly serviceable pedal tuners already.

If it wasn't for the import duty etc I would have got one of those - went for the pitchblack plus instead. Only trouble is I've raised a technical query with Korg and despite an e mail saying that they would get back to me within 3 days I have heard nothing after over 2 weeks - despite a reminder :(

I forgot to add, these tuners are built like a tank. Solid cast aluminum housing. Really exudes quality.

Spud - I hear ya, with the import duties things can get a little overly expensive. Hope you do hear from Korg to get your question resolved.

Thanks JJ-
I bought the plus because I found one at a bargain price - not much more than the standard model.
I also wanted one that I could programme some alt tunings.
eg from high e - ... d c g c g d
The specs implied that this could be done but the instructions are very poor!!
