When you detune, there is less tension on the trem springs. You will need to adjust them.

I have the same problem. i usually tune my guitar with standard tuning. when i tune to drop D... the other strings go sharp... also i noticed that when i tune from the low E to high E with Drop D, i have to go through the tuning process about 3 to 4 times before every string gets in tune.

when i go back to standard tuning, all the strings go flat... and i go to the same process of tuning the guitar about 3 to 4 times before every string gets in tune.

can you please give me a detailed instructions on how to fix this problem... thanks a lot.

Fix? The only fix is to block the trem so it won't move. Then you will have tuning stability. Or just get a guitar with no trem.

Fix?

Multiple JPs one for every tuning you use. Easiest solution. Other wise you have to mess with the trem.

When you de-tune the e string, there is less tension. When there is less string tension, the trem springs pull the bridge down. Guess what happens next? The other strings go sharp as a result. Floating trems and multiple tunings don't mix.

BP probaly likes that idea. I would do that if I had enough money.

I don't know who makes the trem on the JP, but I'm glad it isn't a floyd (I had a few of those on guitars years ago)

- I like the JP trem much better.

Yeah just a normal part of using a floating trem. The JP is one of if not the best
trem I've used along with the G&L floating.

From what I understand MM really uses very high quality materials on their trems.
I'd like to see the specs on the JP.

The best of both worlds is to rest the trem on the body. You can only lower the pitch with the bar but alt. tunings do not affect the other strings.

To do this, Lower the two pole pieces that hold the bridge on the guitar and tighten the springs as needed. Then raise the saddles on the bridge. You will get better sustain with the bridge resting on the body as well.
