Wow, what a morning! I've just organized for myself two more balls!
The first is a tobaccoburst Axis Super Sport. Some of you may recall my post during the week asking for pics, well, they well and truly made my mind up, so I gave Colin a deposit for one and got an email from him this morning saying the order has been made. That alone would have made my day, but was really just icing on the cake to what had occurred a minute beforehand.
I had been keeping half an eye on an ebay auction for an Axis Sport with a vintage(?) burst. The auction was ending at 8:08am Eastern Australia time, so I dragged myself out of bed at 8am (not the easiest thing to do after Friday night) to watch the auction end and maybe throw a bid on if the price didn't go too high. By the time I had fiddled about with my computer and logged onto ebay, it was 8:07 and coming up to 8:08 fast. The auction was sitting at about $600, so in a moment of madness I typed in $810 and confirmed my bid. Thanks to a sluggish internet connection this morning, I thought for sure I was too late, but the screen then came up as saying I was the highest bidder, and a quick refresh informed me that I had won the guitar! Here she is:
I had a look at the bidding history and saw that someone had bid $800 just moments before me, so I'm glad I put in the extra $10. If I was bidding against anyone on this forum, I'm sorry you didn't win, better luck next time.
This isn't what I usually wake up to on a Saturday morning, believe me! However, I wouldn't mind if there were a few more like it!
