I'm having an interesting discussion on talk bass about the "quiet G" phenomenon that a few people have noticed on their Stingrays.

I used to get this on my three-band SR4, until Gav suggested playing with the EQ. Now I reckon it's due to unsubtle use of three-band EQ (mainly due to using full boost on the bass and cutting either the mid or treble).

Anyone notice a quiet G on a two-band stingray?

(For anyone who posts on talkbass, it's the Sabre thread, and no, I'm not drumming up support)
