Evening all,

in a couple of months I'll finally finish med-school and I'll get my hands on a decent salary again. After 6 years of financial draught I'm gonna treat myself to an awesome tube-amp.

Well, for quite some time I'm absolutely captivated by Two Rock amps. Listened to all the albums that were recorded with TR's, watched a lot of video's. The cleans are just stellar (John Mayer as an incredible example) as is the lead sound.

Thing is: I like to play extreme metal occasionally, and I was wondering which TR handles pedals the best. I read on the TR website the Classic Reverb was tuned to accepts pedals, but what are your experiences with these amps? Any input about any TR model is appreciated btw!

I'm gonna have to go by advice, reviews and clips since TR is nearly unobtainable in the Netherlands and I'll have to order one.

Good luck, you are talking about an amp that is from a small company and most wil never have seen or tried one, I hear they are great, but you are most likely going to get better info from thier website or an amp dedicated site.

Hope you buy one would love to know what you think!!

that's a level of amp most of us only dream about owning... but they do sound great (listening to jmayer Where the Lights Are all day in the office) so that tone is very appealing...

I mailed Joe, one of the founders yesterday but I haven't heared back. I'll get a response, I'm sure, but I thought let's see what the opinions on my favorite forum are :). I reckon it's not a question the guys at Two Rock get asked a lot btw ;).

I was going through my mind asking "if you got to buy an amp right now, 1 choice, what's the first thing that comes to mind. What would you LOVE to own" and everytime TR came up. It would be a departure from multichannel amps, racks and VG-gear and I really think I could benefit from the change. Re-invent myself as a player, focus on touch. While all the stuff I owned over the years was top notch, it's been a looooooong time since I got really really excited about something. The "holy cr@p" experience you rarely get anymore after loads and loads of gear. I want to get something truely special, to mark the beginning of a new era in life :)

Would be nice to couple that future TR to a future GameChanger. I'm getting goosebumps thinking about it :)

Played through an Opal and a Jade a few years back. One of the guitar shops in Hawaii are Two Rock dealers. They sounded awesome but they were more amp than I could probably handle for a bedroom player. If I gigged, I might have picked one up at the time. I haven't been there in a while, but the last time I was there, they had a few in stock.

I can't recall if I could get extreme metal sounds out of it, but for everything else, it was balls to the walls awesome.

If your in that price range, I would suggest looking into Bludotone amps as well. Both have wait times of 6 months...both are of Dumble design.

Yeah, that stuff sounds awesome as well. Bludo, Glasswerks, Quinn, etc. Thing is that there is simply 0% chance to check one of those out around here. TR has a "dealer" here. He only carries 1 combo and 1 head but I think I can get the idea a bit. The nearest dealer that has em in stock is 600km away in Germany.

Oh well, gonna have to make it a roadtrip then ;)
