Sperzel machine heads and no battery compartment?

Looks a tad different from mine but still awesome for someone! However the pictures are probably the best I've seen at accurate colour representation - I've found it difficult as hell to capture the pearl red at its best!

See mine at: MobileMe Gallery

Go on, make an offer! ;o)

The Luke 1s produced in the first few months of production did not have battery compartments like yours. On those ones (like my Luke 1), there is a recessed compartment in the control cavity. Takes longer to access but it's not like I'm changing the battery everyday anyway.

Ahhh right, makes sense! Didn't know about the earlier method of hiding the battery in the main control cavity! Are the Sperzels the originals too then, do you know?

My Luke I must be an early one too, It has the battery stowed in the control cavity. Although it has Schaller Non-locking tuners.

The tuners on that there Luke must have been replaced, although I personally can't see the point of putting locking tuners with a Floyd
