They really do sound that great.

You know, I was re-stringing my 30th last night, and was again in awe of the tone of the mahogan body...the depth and ring it adds.
I could only imagine how awesome a HH with that body would sond.

You beat me on that auction. I couldn't let it go without at least placing the minimum bid.
that's funny....i had actually offered a little more than that to the seller, he came down some but declined, so i waited and just bid at the last minute....i cant wait to get it....

ps...it was shipped fedex home delivery to my work addy, so it's still not here yet....bummer

I've got a 6th. Always looking for more, especially at that price...

See, I've lost count already. I didn't see the auction so I don't know the price, but there sure are some good deals to be had. Many people have sold their used 30th SRs which is weird, since they're held in such high regard. Maybe it's because of circumstances......

i own a 30th and a normal "special" stingray (stringthru)
but i actually prefer the sound of my normal stingray! why? because it sounds more dirty to me. and i don't like the 3band eq...

but selling is no option. because the 30th had more low mids and looks very nice. and of course it still sounds great.

btw:
i played 6 different 30th and 2 of them sound like... well they don't sound very nice. one was ok and only 3 had a very nice tone. these three good sounding rays had a 2 piece body and weight about 4,7kg. the others had one piece bodys and weight 5kg, 4,3kg and 4,6kg. maybe the body was the reason.
thats not a great rate :( 3/6 are only usable rays.
maybe all the people who sell their 30th have one of the "50% not nice sounding" rays. i mean, i would be very dissapointed if i spend $3000 (european price) for a stingray and it doesn't sound great!
