In North Texas, there lives a guy named Jack who plays bass. Ernie Ball Music Man basses. Bongos to be exact. You may have heard of him.
Anyhow, he had a little party a while back and Jack was kind enough to pass out door prizes. Some of these prizes were guitar and bass strings.
I was lucky enough to be a winner of said strings. In fact, I made out like a bandit with enough strings to go for a long, long while.
I decided to share some of my good fortune via contests here and by just handing them out to friends that played. Just a couple of days ago I got an email from a good friend about the guitar strings... I think he likes 'em.
I'll poke his brain about his final thoughts, but he seemed pleased when I phoned him after I got the email.
A string convert! Now to get him to play my Stingray.

Finally put the Ernie Ball strings on a guitar... Great sound for my style of playing. A lot brighter than the similar Martins. Unfortunately, they seem a little lighter than the guitar likes, so I'll have to try the heavier version next time around. They also seem louder than the strings I was using... I'll take it next Thursday night and see if I can hear myself play... I usually feel like I need a monitor so I can hear myself playing with the Takamine... It projects OK, but can't hear behind it.
So... when are we gonna pick some tunes????
