I own a 1991 EBMM Sterling bass and an HH Special (both 4-strings). I really love the Special; it is the nicest bass that I have ever owned. It sounds truly phenomenal IMO and it's beautiful. However, I find the neck a bit too "chunky" for my taste - the Sterling is much easier to play.
I would love to get an SLO Special 4 string HH with an 18 volt preamp, but when I search the only thing that I come up with is this:
shop.music-man.com
According to the site, it was a limited run of only 5!? It true, that is probably one of the most rare MM basses out there....
Does anyone know if they produced more of them? I would love to get my hands on one, but wouldn't want to sell my house to do so.... or would it even be possible to get one at this point.
I do see an SLO on sale on eBay, but it has a 9 volt preamp.
Any information would be appreciated.
Edit: It looks like there was also a limited run of 5 in the "Orange Crush" finish. So, 10 in total.

Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay Special SLO Special HH - Black
Stock photos. Wood grain can vary on each instrument. Limited run of 5 pieces Compared to standard StingRay Special, the SLO Special neck is narrower (1-1/2" at nut) with a slightly thinner profile Black finish with rosewood fretboard Roasted maple neck
