Unusual Axis ?

Just noticed this on ebay. At first i thought it was a sport with the pickguard but then noticed the single pot and floyd rose!

Is this a customised Axis or did EBMM ever produce this model. The case looks like an LE case with the little plate but you cant see what it says. Or is it just a fake?

I brought this up a long time ago, because it surprised me too. Apparently the Axis was available at one point with a guard. GET IT!

I ran into one at GC a while back. It was way overpriced and unplayable as it was in need of a set up. Was there for a long time. Someone finally grabbed it but the price never came down.

Yep - it isn't too common, but I've seen a few - including one which I had planned to be my first ball, which got snatched just a few days earlier. Anyway, here's one with a rosewood board:
