That's an Axis Sport model- it predated the Super Sport. They didn't have maple tops, so no need for binding around the edges.

The piezo option was available on a number of MM guitars- gives you more of an faux acoustic tone.

It was a production model (now discontinued), not a one-off. Really nice looking guitar!

Many thanks for that. It’s totally amazing. Put it through a Fender twin 1960s valve amp, and wow!

I am so pleased. Those pickups are so unbelievably punchy. Cant really describe the sound through a Fender twin 1960s valve amp.
Words failed me.

An axis sport or super sport with a trem and piezo is on my "instant buy" list if I see one at a decent price. Doubly so if it has mm90s.

Killer guitar, OP. Very nice!
