Finally got round to modding my silo special to try out a different set-up.

The pickups are a calibrated set of Rio Grandes (Muy Grande bridge, Halfbreed middle, and Vintage Tallboy neck) and the electronics feature a master volume, master tone and 6 position custom varitone, as well as "neck-on" push/pull which will gives me 7 pickup combinations instead of the usual 5.

I'd never heard of Rio Grande PUP's before but the deal on ebay was too good to pass on. First impressions sound good. The varitone, in particular, is excellent and offer some great variations.

In order to fit it all in I had to use a piezo scratchplate (thanks to S&T for their help). Still undecided on the scratchplate colour but it'll grow on me and the chicken head knob has now been changed to a standard tone knob.

Some pics of the guitar (before and after) and sound clips to follow and now that I've got the modding bug again, let us know of any other interesting mods others have made to EB.

Thats a beautiful Silo.I'd go the vintage mint scratchplate with off white pickup covers.I had a Muy Grande set in my Tele. I've just bought Muy Grande and Tallboy humbuckers off E Bay and put them in my Silo. I really like them. They seem cutting like single coils, but with bags of power.I made a temporary pickguard to try them with. When I make a proper one I'll post a pic.
