I did a search but couldn't find an awnser. I thought I read on here that you could send your single H ray or sterling to musicman and they would upgrade the bass for you. Is that true, and if so does anyone know what they would charge to upgrade my sterling with a single coil. Also, does anyone know if it would be possible for them to put a red shell guard on as well.

You don't need to send your Sterling back to get a single coil pickup.Use the center position of the selector switch. That's the single coil position. You can put any pickguard on yourself easily.

call customer service. many moons ago, they changed a two band eq to a three band eq for me.

Which didn't require additional routing.

This is WAY different than switching out a preamp. And is a perfectly good reason to buy a new bass!
