Nuh uh. It was too late for us to strike a deal. Mine went locally, though, which was nice. No shipping.

BTW, I am also in Wait Mode Alpha as I've finally gotten around to replacing my departed Fish 5L. Should be here tomorrow....can I say that here? Fish 5L?

So how much is a Fish 5L going to wind up costing me now, whatever it is - dammit.

Ahhh... UPS... The guys in BROWN...

Well I’m under house arrest today, you know waiting for the UPS man. I’m not sure this internet tracking of a shipment is a good idea; I’ve watched my 85lb box start in NV, then go to CA, stop in TX for a day, then arrive in NC last night, only to worry that I might have to leave for a minute today, miss the man and have to wait till Monday.

This is more keyboard stuff; I can only imagine the torture of waiting for my lefty Bongo shipment. :D

Psycho

Get this...
Last Thursday, I purchased a 2GIG CF card for my Marantz Recorder, and paid for SECOND DAY AIR from UPS. We didn't know which COSTCO facility it was going to ship from, so I paid for FASTER delivery. COSTCO can take a week to ship sometimes, and I didn't want the extra wait of UPS Ground. Lucky me... It shipped from Fresno, Friday. I live in Southern Calif.

So... It shipped from a location that is ONE day delivery for UPS Ground. ONE DAY DELIVERY, right? Wrong... Since I paid the extra $10 for SECOND DAY, they held it, to deliver today.

Of course, they didn't tell me that, the Website showed it was "ON THE TRUCK" since Saturday morning, but at 5pm the weasel still hadn't arrived [and I'd been sitting around watching bad sitcoms from the 60's and digitizing videos all day on my lap]. So, I called them?

With DHS, or FEDEX, or USPS when a package is a one day delivery for ground, and you pay expedited service rates, they automatically deliver it as quickly as possible.

Not UPS... : )
That isn't policy...

Of course, I "enlightened" the phone fellow as to their foolishness, and my feelings on it, and threatened to call the President of UPS today, and the usual "I'm ticked my package isn't here" thing...

Well, I guess I raised enough stink in the call, because even though the phone fellow told me it WASN'T POLICY to deliver early, and it WASN'T GOING TO HAPPEN. NO WAY!

Mysteriously, at 7:15pm last night, somebody drove up [NOT IN A UPS VEHICLE] and handed me my package [NOT IN A UPS OUTFIT]. No explanation, just had me sign for it on a UPS electronic pad, and took off... No explanation, nothing...

Moral of the story? Be GRUMPY on the phone when UPS screws up,
aliens will eventually deliver your package on time. lol

Hah!

I shall not post a photo here of another manufacturer's bass, but if you click this, I bet you could see what a Fish 5L is.

Plus, no Ernie Ball basses were harmed in the acquisition of this bass.

Ahhhh yes... the rumblers. Played one once, don't wanna do it again. I'm safe. Thank god.

My house arrest is over...

The moral of this thread may just wind up being, "Don't spend your money on anything other than MM basses."
