I normally can set up my guitar.. but the petrucci seems to be different! Plus it didn't hold in tune when I got it... some forum members might remember some of the older threads in which I was complaining about it :(

Is this the one where the guys in Nottingham butchered the nut?

If I were you I would inspect the nut and check it's cut neatly and properly and also check that all strings are clearing the fretboard behind the nut now.

Then i would check the trem position in the cavity and make sure it is level and square.

If this is good then give it a play and check how it feels/sounds and if the trem works to your satisfaction but bear in mind that they may not have stretched the strings out properly if they have been working on it and replaced the strings.

If it's still not right then they're not gonna get it right so you can either...

1) take it anyway and use the FAQ and the forum to help you set it up correctly.

and/or

2) do some research and get it to a tech that actually has a clue.

or

3) get a refund and go somewhere else. There is a perl redburst pet, NO piezo, matching headstock w/inlays at the Oxford Guitar Gallery AFAIK. Best to call them to check it's still there if you consider this an option but I have played it and it is set up superbly. You could even take your pet there if you decide to keep it and get them to set it up. That way you have another pet there as a reference point.

Oxford to Nottingham is only about 1hour or so by car.

Just my thoughts and ramblings

Hope that helps :)

Good luck
