i have an original 1978 pre eb stingray. everything is original except for the pots. swamp ash natural body and maple neck. will this decrease the value very much. the preamp is original with black epoxy. im planning to replace the the non-switchable jack to a switchable one to disconnect the battery when the guitar lead is removed. any comment on this.

Value is in what someone is willing to pay for something. If you plan on selling it, the "value" may decrease because of a mod....however, if someone really wants what you have, they will pay for it. Not a great answer for ya, but it is what it is.

People will pay if it means that much to them.
