i also tried an ST5 for the first time yesterday. I was VERY impressed. EBMM did an amazing job making sure not to add any fat to this 5er. It really didn't feel that much bigger than my sterling. amazing.

I bought both of my Sterling 5's in Toronto, but from different stores. It's a great addition to the product mix.

I love all of my kids but the Sterling 5 is hard not to favor more. Here is the funniest thing...WE switched the original SR5 because we truly thought the ceramic was a better bass. The old line vintage groundswell convinced us to put alnico back in the SR5....that opened up the door to offer a ceramic pickup bass in the form of a Sterling 5....I like the sterling 5 better. I guess Im a ceramic guy

Had a chance to bang around on a ST5-HH (a 08 LTD no less) when I was at the House of Guitars in Rochester, NY. Killer sound. I really like the tones that were in there and it is soooo playable. I am kind of torn for what will be my next 5 now - ST5 or Bongo (I know, get one of each)

Samething happened to me with my second ST5 and it was a HH 08 Limited Edition too. My other ST5 is a H config. I've put EBMM flatwound 2810's on the H and left the standard Slinky Bass5 roundwound 2836's on the HH. Versatility is my middle name!
