Greetings all!

I've been keeping this one under the wraps since i got it two-three weeks ago (haven't counted as I've been busy with school). This is, believe it or not, my first EBMM 4-string. I've owned a Stingray 5, a Sterling 5, a Reflex 5, and I have my third Bongo 6. I absolutely love the Bongo 6, but I was looking for something else to have in my tool box. The Bongo is great for hi-fi stuff, but I always get that earn to have something that sounds "vintage" (not to be cliche). When EBMM offered the Sabre, it seriously was a "Shut up and take my money!" moment. So, I present to you my relatively new Sabre Classic PDN.

The finish effect is, like it is with the Gilded White and Black Sugar finishes, very subtle and classy. While you have to mess with the lighting in order to really show the shifts between the colors, the grey color that naturally results is very appealing.

The bass sounds amazing, of course. Everyone that I have played with (three different church bands each week) loves how it sounds. I have found a use for all of the pickup positions but find myself using the single coil solo and single coil/bridge humbucker positions the most. I'm still adjusting to the 2 band EQ to find a sound I like (I run the Bongo flat whenever I use it), but the Sabre sounds so good with the bass and treble boosted. I haven't even messed with the mutes and probably won't. I installed a Hipshot Extender on the bass the moment I got it and that has made a huge difference. A low D string on the Sabre sounds phenomenal.

Oh, and this bass kills with Cobalts just like the Bongo and Reflex. The Cobalt strings make a huge difference in output and tone; it isn't hype, those things are real. But, I'm preaching to the choir.

Don't really know what to say about it. I've been too busy playing it to critique it. To me, that means it's doing its job and it's a damn good bass. I don't see this one or the Bongo PDN leaving myside. I'm resisting the urge of getting another PDN (that green sparkle looks delicious) because I think I'm happy with what I have. I have the Swiss Army knife that is the Bongo 6HS and the smaller sharp-edge that is the Sabre Classic.

Thank you to Pete for making this happen; highly recommended and a great guy to deal with!
