Hello! Does anyone have idea, can EB MM build special Axis BFR with specs? Just very nice birdeye maple neck & fingerboard, but with really, really killer amethyst top.

No, they won't custom spec a guitar unless they are going to get a great amount of exposure for it... BP said it isn't cost effective otherwise. So basically, unless you are a well known musician or a very popular one they won't do it... It throws too many wrentches in the system.

also, amethist was discontinued last year so can't order a new one... But you can contact customer service and see if they can locate one for you... Then you'll be calling dealers looking for photos and deciding on one.

Ok. Thanks. Well, i need to find one, then: What is reasonable price for BFR Axis, can you tell? Need to know, because there´s not many around that kind of stuff i want...

Funny thing: after 2 decades of playin´ guitar, i just cant keep my fingers off from Axis/EVH. I played many years with Ibanez Jem 7VWH, but overall quality of Ibanez is not even close compared that what EB MM offers. Of course Jem´s & other are fine guitars, but they seem - no, they seem to sound - very similar: They have quite narrow line of different sounds.

It would be nice to know, how the heck these guys in EB MM can keep that quality so high all the time? I have owned 8 Jems in my life - only 2 were good ones, both 7VWH`s. 7DBK was pretty lowsy & 90HAM, too. EB MM guitars have been always very well made & sound amazing. Jem´s neck is littlebit better for fast playing, but still

Not sure about the prices, but there are probably plenty of dealers that still have BFR Axis guitars in stock. Recently all the BFR tops have been amazing, and I'm sure you'll find one with some nice birdseye too.

yeah, contact customer service on monday and start calling around. A good dealer should be able to provide you with photos of the top and neck... As for pricing, there is a major "Guitar" retailer with a website that may be able to help give you an idea of pricing...

Jommi,

not sure where you're from but in case you're located in Europe...

Strings&Things happen to have a quilt amethyst BFR Axis in stock:

BFR Axis current stock

On a side note, all the BFR Axi are finished in a burst...so if you want to have a purple BFR Axis it'll be just like the ones in browndog's links (i.e. amethyst fading to black)...if you want a single-coloured "all-purple" top, you'll have to track down a (used) regular Axis.

Good luck with your quest!

On eBay (United States), there was one listed. Not sure if it is there right now.

There is a Guitar Center Thread with their Blowout Sale items. Do a Search for that....
