Hi there,

I'm running at Blackstar HT20 combo with the Flanger in the loop. When I engage the pedal I get a volume loss. Any ideas why this would occur?

Thanks,

I use the MXR Micro Flanger on my current rig and I don't get any volume loss when I engage the pedal. But then again I have it at the front end of my amp (a Mesa Dual Rec) - not on the effects loops.

Maybe try putting it at the front of the amp instead of the effects loop?

Flange sounds best in the front imo

Is your loop tube driven?

Thanks Primo. It works well in the front, i don't know why i didn't try that earlier!

Now for the technical question, why does the flange work in the front but not in the loop?

most likely an impedance problem. The pedal is probably designed to work in an instrument level environment. the effects loop is usually a line level environment, and that can cause problems with a lot of pedals if they aren't designed for that hot of a signal.
