Question Volume pedal users....care to share your thoughts. Pros and Cons?

I'm probably going to pick up a VPjr, and I was wondering how everyone that has used one got along with it.
Obviously, I'm intending on using it for volume swells, but can see some other applications as well. My main concern is that the thing is always there and always "active" for lack of a better term.

Does it tend to stay put where you set the volume level? I could see on a small board (like what I'm building) that it could potentially get bumped and change the level. Do you guys keep it off the board away from your other pedals? Do you build a bypass for it so you can remove it from the chain on the fly? Do they make a volume pedal that has an on/off switch? What cool tricks do you use your volume pedals to accomplish?

Hi! I never had the opportunity to use original EB VP, but I found a lot of positive opinions about it. The only complaint was about replacing the spring and string - some people consider it too difficult

There's no EB VP with on/off switch, but it's easy to do You can find some DIY projects about it and about additional minimal volume pot as well.

Recently I build an expression pedal based on EB VP - it works very good - photos are here (click). Even in my home made construction there is no tendency to change the vol after taking your foot off the pedal.

I use the EB volume pedal at the end of my pedalboard. I keep it off the board (because my pedalboard is overcrowded !). I use it like a master volume. It is very stable : when in it is in one position, it doesn't move. I set the volume of my amp in order to have my "guitar solo volume", thus when I play a solo, I just have to put the volume pedal on max.
For volume swell, I use the volume knob of my guitar.

I use my EB volume pedal for more than 10 years and I never had a problem (I never had to change the string). It's heavy but it gives you stability thus you can set volume precisely and after taht it doesn't move. I tried the volume pedals on several multi-effects (RP355, ZOOM ...) and they are really too light and too imprecise.
In fact my EB volume pedal is the only stable element on my pedalboard : it is the only thing I did not change during the last 10 years !

I use mine in the same way as Francois, get one and try it if you don't like it I'll buy it from you ( I need an expression pedal)
