Hey,

I bought a volume pedal the other day and hooked it up. I found that as I backed it off that it cut the gain, distortion. Is that normal for a volume pedals¿¿ Do EB´s ¨volume pedals do that also¿¿

I live in Mexico so I don´t have access to EB stuff, thats the only reason I didn´t get one.

Mick,
Yep they do that if you're running it in front of your amp. It's just like turning down the volume nob on your guitar cleans it up. If you have an effects loop on your amp, you can try running it there and it shouldn't clean up your signal but the pot in the pedal might not be well matched for running in the loop. EB makes an "active" 25k volume pedal that's perfect for running in the effects loop. Watch out for pythons!

Beej might be able to explain this to you better than me!

I use a volume pedal right after my guitar before my amp's input. It's just like using the volume pot on the guitar.
