Volumne knob not smooth taper - bfr jp6

I have had my bfr jp for ~8 months, and never brought it out to a gig, it goes goes back and forth to practice and my house (for noodling)
Anyway the volume knob when turn it from off to on doesn't do a smooth volume increase anymore. It goes from off to full on, to off and then does the gradual increase. the area of the roll is about less than a quarter turn, but it makes volume swells impossible, and makes using the volume knob to clean up the signal less usefull.

any thoughts and ideas on what to do for this?

Is there any scratchiness or noise to it as it turns? Does it feel sticky at all? It could just be dirty, but that off then on business make me think not.

Sounds like an issue with the pot. It's 8 mos old? Still under warranty. Contact EBMM customer support and they can help get you sorted out.
