Greetings,

Can anyone here tell me if Ernie Ball provided a Silhouette Special for giveaway during the 2002 Warped tour? I've come across one signed by a lot of the artists on that tour and am wondering exactly where it came from.

Thanks,

Ron

I know that there are a few Axes out there, so it wouldn't surprise me if there was a few SS.

Good luck. Glenn |B)

If that's the one on Eaby, stay away cause it's an OLP. I've only seen Axis giveaways for the warped tour, but I do not for a fact that the Ebay listing that Ernie Ball Warped tour guitar was an OLP...I tried to warn the buyer but...

Raz,

It was on eBay. I haven't bought the guitar, but the guy who was selling it lives close by so I thought I would take a look at it. He swears it is an EB, but who knows? I haven't seen it yet. From the pic that was displayed how can you tell it was an OLP? Is there something in that pic that I should be looking for?

Thanks,

Ron

Yeah it does seems like the majority of these auctions that are bogus leave out the headstock when they take the photos. The legit ones usually feature a good photo of it, particularily EVH auctions.

You could also tell by the headstock. Looks like it was intentionally cut out of the picture.

This was the first clue and then when I inquired, he responded with this:

I have attached a pic of the headstock. My digital camera crapped out on me so this is all I could send. I have been getting quite a few questions like this about the guitar, someone else also said it was an OLP. I took the guitar to a music store and the guy behind the counter told me it looked like a Music Man and I took him at his word. Sorry about this!! I mentioned in the ad I wasn’t a guitar officianado, so I plead lack of info on my part.

Thanks

Thanks guys.. That saves me a trip out to take a look at the guitar. I'm not sure about the honesty though. It seems to be that you really don't have to know a whole lot about guitars to read the name on the headstock rather than posting a pic on ebay sans headstock. You never know though, mistakes do happen.
