Had a great night on Saturday at the Queen musical We Will Rock You at the Dominion in London.

Towards the end, instead of the usual house band guitarist, up pops Mr Brian May on a hydraulic lift in a big cloud of smoke for the solo and end sections of Bohemian Rhapsody.

Cue for the whole theatre to go nuts and lifts this already great show into another realm!

As this was originally going to be the last night of the run (although now extended), many people had spent over the odds to get hold of tickets so the theatre was clearly full of major Queen fans who made it a really lively show, more like a gig really.

Nice to see Brian up there, clearly enjoying himself in a big way! He made a big speech at the end as well thanking everybody involved in the show etc etc.

Great show. Great night. Catch it near where you live if you can!:D

At the Freddie tribute concert I thought there were only two vocalists who really worked singing Queen songs.

One was George Michael (for all his many failings)

the other

Gary Cherone from Extreme

Completely agree. For me, Extreme completely stole that show. They were tight, talented and completely on the button in terms of perfromance and cover versions. The rest of the acts all seemed completely lame after that. In fact, most of the Queen and Guests section was utterly awful, saved by, as you say, George Michael and, for me, Roger Daltry doing I Want It All. His voice wasn't great on the night, but he did the song full justice. I still cringe remembering Lisa Stansfield, Annie Lennox and, andI wish I could erase this part of memory, Liza Minelli *shudder*

BTW, have you heard the Felix and Arty single? It's been a very mysterious release but turns out that Felix is none other than Roger Taylor's son, and Arty is Roger himself! It's an odd but very catchy reggae based pop song.

sounds like a great time! Brian May actually being there AND playing, how good is that!

A few months ago i got the Queen w/Paul Rodgers dvd, i know its not new but it is AMAZING! I love Paul's tone, he fits the band so well.

Roger, Brian and Paul are going into the studio to see what happens!!! They're making no promises, and say they won't release anything they're not happy with. But I have a feeling that 2007 could be a good year  Just a shame John Deacon won't come out of retirement, but I can understand. He was always the family man and seems much happier out of the spotlight.

100% agree with that.

Somebody to Love is a fantastic song. Good choice for Mr Michael.
