Does anyone here own one of the new Morses and an Axis? How does it compare weight wise? Is it much heavier? I love the Axis beacuse its so light. Are the new Morses the same?

I think you're still looking at a few months for either.

Oh ... you won't mean WAIT ... :p

The Morse is a bit heavier, but I can't recall off-hand. Have to check that out tonight and report back.

My Morse appears to be heavier than my EVH. Both have Floyd's. I must stress that I gig with my Morse and the weight is not an issue. Better than a LP.

Hey Tim- I don't have a scale at home, but here's what I think:

The Y2D and old Morse are very comparable in weight. Tough to feel a difference.

My Morse (hardtail) is heavier than my Axis SS (trem). Barely, but noticable.

From the mmonline/specs page:

Morse hardtail: 7lbs 7 oz
ASS w/ trem: 7lbs 4 oz.

Morse with trem is another 7 oz heavier.

Thats perfect, thank you! I am thinking of a new Morse and weight is a very important issue for me. I have a weak lower back, and the Axis is about as heavy as it can take! But if its only just a little bit more heavy I am sure I can cope!

Mmmmmm new morse.....
