ok i had a weird buzzing noise for a little while i posted a thread on here about it. i was told to check my input and tighten it slowly if it was loose, and i did this. that seemed to fix the problem, but now the buzz is back. now if im playing and i unplug the bass then plug back in the it does the weird buzz and if i play any of the strings the sound is distorted, if i unplug and plug back in again sometimes its stops sometimes it doesnt. if i open the battery compartment it stops. i know its not a bad battery. does any one know what it could be or should i send it in to EB.

so its a buzz that comes out on the amp right, and when you open the bat compartment it stops. if it is just a raddle then i wouldnt worry, but if it comes out on the amp

could it be a short in a wire inside the bass? i would.. hate to say it... take it to a reapir shop and ask him

he usually will tell you whats wrong with it, if its easly fixable i would have him do it, if its gonna cost you some bling, send it in.

notice how im righting in complete sentences.

thanks jub, i was in a hurry when i was writting, thus the lack of complete sentence's. i bought it at guitar center do you think any one there would be able to determine the problem? there isnt a repair guy around here that i trust, or isnt booked for at least 2 months.

Since GC is an authorized dealer, they should take care of the problem with warranty coverage.

that dosnt help his problem
that means it could be 2 months before they could get it fixed

liek i asked before, is it a buzz from the amp or a raddle in the bass, if its a buz commin through the speaker i would say it could be a short in one of the wires inside

and since when you open the bat compartment that could be a short in the power supply, and when you open it it wiggles the cord in a way that the short is workable

thats my sugestion, i bet its a problem with the power wires goin from the bat compartment to the electronics

af its a raddle dont worry about it

yeah, its a buzz coming from the amp. it doesn't happen all the time though, it will buzz then squeal some of the time. then, if i play sometimes, the bass sounds distorted like i've got a lot of gain on. But as soon as i open the battery compartment it stops. i first noticed it while i was on tour, but then it just stopped doing it and hasn't done it since until today.

If GC has any customer service at all, they'll just give him another one, or find one at another store and have it transferred in. that will fix his problem in about a day or so.

i dont know if that would work. i bought the bass on clearance sans case. it is a brand new bass though, its in burnt apple. i guess they just were getting rid of it because the color has been discontinued.

If GC doesn't have anyone there to fix it free of charge, call MusicMan at 1-805-544-7726 and ask what you should do with a repair issue.
