After years and years of swearing off country, tomorrow night I am getting the triplets out (the Bongos) and playing the first of many country gigs. The thing I thought I would share was the reaction of my singer/guitar player at my audition last week: "Those are the best d@mn sounding basses I've ever heard" which strangely was the same reaction I got from my old singer (alternative/heavy rock) when I bought my first Bongo. They are awsome... any tone and it is dialed in - my old Fndrs and Warsticks couldn't even come close.

BP and staff: you guys simply rock (and this case even country :D ).

I'm a rock 'n roll kinda guy, but when a good country gig came up a few years ago, I took it. Played for two years in Buckhead (Atlanta hotspot). Fun as hell, we had a female singer that sounded like a mix between Linda Ronstadt and Patsy Cline.

It don't matter what kinda music you're playin'. When your listeners are gettin' into it... that's all that matters. I've played top 40 and country and when people get up to dance and they tell you how good it sounds, that makes it all worthwhile.

So true...

My rule of thumb is *any* music that moves you - physically or otherwise - is worth playing! :)
