Last night, David Muse who was a member of the band "Firefall" (who had several hits in the late 70's) sat-in with us on sax. Although we're part of a 5-piece band, our guitarist, our drummer, and I also do a 3-piece version of our band as well. Last night David (who lives here locally in the Tampa Bay area) showed up at one of our 3-piece gigs. Our guitarist and he have been friends for about 35 years or so. Not only is he a great sax player but he's a heck of a nice guy, too. He played an entire set with us.

Robby Steinhardt (violin, vocals) from the band "Kansas" sits-in about 3 or 4 times a year (he also lives in the Tampa Bay area.) He's an ex-band mate of ours; when he first left "Kansas," he joined our band from '90-'96. The band's history can be found on either of our web-sites listed in my signature.

Please don't take this as "name dropping," I am always just so thrilled when I have the opportunity to perform with people that I've respected for so long. I'm like a big kid; somebody pinch me! :D

No one knows more than I do how lucky I am and I take nothing for granted!

That's awesome bro. I would love to have an opportunity to sit in with some peeps like that. I just get too nervous around them....well...maybe not so much anymore.

Sounds like a blast, though having Beaver felton sit in for you feels a little scary, he is after all a little more accomplished as a player than most players I know of.

Next time, take pics for gods sake!

Great, BP!

I don't know if you'll be in Tampa Bay tomorrow (Friday the 12th) or not, but Stormbringer is playing at "Murphy's" on Memorial in Tampa. I'll bring the Big Poppa Bongo 5 single H called "The Dreamsicle." Or maybe I should bring my Sterling 5 single H called "Uncle Sterling."

Maybe I shouldn't call "The Dreamsicle" a Big Poppa model since it's a 5-string and only real men play 4-string.

Hopefully Mrs.sitonmybass will be with me; she's major cool!
By the way, before she got her master's degree in special education she used to do P.R. (hint, hint...)

It is always cool to have "the sit-ins." I am the same way about it... jaw on floor usually hoping some one would slap some sense into me - I am also a BIG kid about it (Bootsy Collins sat in with us last year for a few tunes and I think I slobbered all over the stage). While I don't know Beaver, personally, I have spoken with him MANY times at BC and he seems to be a pretty standup guy!And Robby is just killer!
