Hey guys, I am looking to get an EBMM shipped from USA to Australia, just wondering what precautions should be taken when shipping a guitar? Is it necessary to loosen the strings? Also should the hardcase be packed inside another shipping box? Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers!

Mate, there's no need to loosen strings or anything like that. I've had quite a few other brand guitars shipped to Australia, and all have arrived in great nick. The guitar should however be packed well inside the case, and the case should be packed inside a cardboard case to protect it.
DO bother with insurance, because **** happens and you don't need to lose any hard earned money!
Hope I've assisted in some way :)

I shipped an Axis Supersport from Boston to Portland, OR. I put the whammy bar and keys into a bubble wrap envelope and taped it with shipping tape to another piece of bubble wrap. I stuffed bubble wrap around the guitar body and wrapped the neck with thin bubble wrap. Thin bubble wrap on top of the guitar. This was all to keep it from moving in the case. Case in a box with bubble wrap and peanuts to fill any gaps in the box.

The buyer opened the box and sent me a message that not only was the guitar in perfect shape.....but it was in tune. :)

Awesome! I'm confident all should go well the seller is going to bubble wrap the guitar in the case like you mentioned, and i am definitely getting insurance on that baby! I can only hope it arrives in as good condition as your guitar did when it reached it's destination!

Thanks for the help guys, can't wait to get my new baby! Cheers!
