Question What are the Differences Between the Axis & Reflex Necks & Pickups?

I have tried to search for some specifics, but I haven't found exactly what I was looking for.

Can anyone tell me (or point me in the right direction to) the differences between the necks and pickups of the Axis and the Reflex models?

It is really appreciated.

The neck on the reflex is more like the Silhouette neck then the Axis. The neck joint is different as well, the Axis is more sculpted while the Reflex is more like the JP... Curved but not contoured.

Pickup wise the Reflex has more options, you can run them series or parallel which gives you tones like the Axis Super Sport and then a great selection of single coil tones. The chambered body gives it a whole different dimention as well.

Sound wise it is a great compliment to your Axis.

You may want to check out the HH AL as well...

Stratty nailed it. The 25th/Reflex's neck is based off the Silo's.

As for the pups, they are the exact same Axis/ASS pups EXCEPT you get the option to run the 5 blade configurations in either series or parallel.

Suffice it to say, its a tone monster. It can quack, it can shimmer, it can rock and it can melt faces. As brad would say, the Swiss Army knife of guitars! GET IT!

So, if I am getting this straight, the pickups in the Reflex are the exact same custom-wound DiMarzios that are in the Axis models - except covered? For some reason I thought they were more like PAF's.

Having never played a Silo, I do not have a good reference as to the profile. I know both guitars (Reflex and Axis) feature a 1 5/8th nut, but the Axis profile is asymmetrical. How would you describe the Silo neck profile & thickness - a medium C shape?

I think a medium c would be a very good description. To me the silo neck is thinner then the axis, yet very comfortable. I can jump from an Axis to a Silo with no issues...

That is great to know. Oddly, I live in San Luis Obispo and EBMM are an endangered species around here. Finding one to play is almost impossible.

Soft C is what I'd say. It is extremely comfortable to play.

Terrific idea zomby but don't forget BP & other MM people read this haha... think the guard dogs will be prowling the plant now so Ventanaman is gonna get bitten. For that we definitely need pics on a 'new bite day'
