I just got a great deal on a barely used SWR 550X amp and I don't know what would be the best cab/cabs combination to get the most out of it. I know SWR cabs is the obvious answer, but there must be other options that are as good or better. I'm looking for the most bang for the buck. I want loud and clean. I played the amp through my Ampeg 4X10 and 1X15 cabs last night and it was ok ( louder and cleaner than my SVT3Pro) but I want even cleaner. I play mostly active basses (Stingray5, Mike Lull) and also some passive ones on occaision. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Markbass 4x10 - they are light, loud, clean and focused. Not to mention they come in at a decent price too. If you need more, add a 15 or another 4x10 (I play through 2 2x10s and it is plenty loud and very clear.

GK Neos are also great I also play 2 2x12s and it slams (little heavier than the MarkBass stuff).

Some of the guys around here play Bergs and swear by them (they are great) but $$$$$$$$$

I use mine with lots of success through an SWR210 Goliath Jr (4ohm) and a 610 Goliath SR (4ohm).

Older Goliath III, prior to Fender buying them and moving the factory to Mexico. Quality is not the same now.
