Hey Rog,

I bought a Sterling Blue Dawn this summer , I put a polished diamond plate guard from Sharp Concepts on it..... I am thinking I should have bought the mirrored one instead . I will post pics tonight after I get off work.

Hay Rog hows it going ?
Not long ago i couldn't (an still a bit ??) undecided between either black or white PG but that was on a Sunburst.
If i had a Blue Pearl colored looking bass id like to be thinking about something mirror/metallic looking .... maybe ... :p

Very nice....had a blue dawn Sterling a while back, and sold it...I was used to the HH model Rays I had at the time.

Hey Danny...yeah, I'm leaning towards a mirror one. I had a mirror pg on a blue sterling I gigged back in 2006-07

Abalone is a nice option...I actually have an old abalone pg for another bass that I may place on it to "get an idea" as to how it would look.
I once saw a blue pearl Bongo with an abalone guard on it.

Gorgeous.

EBMM has made some really nice pickguards over the years.... not profitable enough, I guess, to keep them in production.

Thanks Josh...I'll have to see what options they have...I think I know which one you're talking about.
You should call EBMM CS and see if they still have a blue swirl guard. Looks great on the darker blues. JOSH

I was going to say abalone too. Mine is black and I was thinking of going with that eventually. White pearloid would probably look good as well.

I concur!!! The mirror on my Black/Maple Stingray is such a cool look. I am going to change my Sterling to a mirror as well. Good call Rog!

Hi RR!

I guess You talkin' 'bout Your Blue Pearl Bongo? (should add to signature)

For me black pearloid PG is just fine, also white pearloid PG could look nice 'cause of huge contrast! ;)

Aaargh - cell phone post

Hi Rog good to see you back again. I have an abalone on my SR4HH blue dawn LE (there's a pic in my gallery I think).

FWIW i think the best colour pg for these is either white or white pearloid - to the extent I'm thinking of switching mine - DTG has an SR5 in blue dawn with this and it looks really good - brings the colour out more than a dark pg

I do like the black pearl...it's a nice classic look. I may love mine with the black pearl once it arrives.
Thanks Jack...that's a nice light colored blue pearl....or at least that's what it looks like. I think the traditional blue pearl would clash too much.

Actually....believe it or not...after a couple of weeks, I decided the Natural Sterling HS (my Avatar) was more my style...and so I traded it at the loacl Guitar Center. It's playability me more of my jazz basses. My band loved the sound of the HS, so I sold a P bass I had and picked up another Sterling in Blue....

Hi Doc,

Thank You, Thank You! It's good to be back. It's true that a lighter color would make the blue "pop" more...I think it's why I liked the mirror...but a pearl white would certainly make the blue stand out...or "pop."

RR... Do you have a single H Bongo? I have a black pearl just sitting here if you do?

I did black pearl. I like to match the pickup cover color but solid black always looks dirty.

Thanks for the post...that's the same exact look mine will have, including the rosewood fb. All I had was the terrible guitar center photo...but I'm thinking it may stay with the Black Pearl it has on it....Come On Tuesday!! UPS delivery day!:D
