It looks like Carbon Blue Pearl to me.

It's unlikely, but it could also be Sapphire Black, but I'm pretty sure it's Carbon Blue Pearl.

The guy has a serial number in the listing, just ask someone at Customer Service. Lighting conditions + digital camera + your monitor can really screw with colors....

:D So you weren't joking when you said you had JP6 number 3 lined up ?

Ah.....well........#3 has literally just been paid for (thanks ernie!). I'm just nosing at this one now, mostly out of curiosity.

PS Thanks for the replies....so it's possibly one of two colours (depending on your monitor maybe?)

Could someone at EBMM HQ give the definitive answer please?

The S/N is G29823

It's Saphire Black alright. No way that could be Carbon Blue! I've got a Carbon Blue Luke, so I know what it looks like and even in the picture it is not close. I love Saphire black, and am thinking of which guitar to get dressed up in it :D.

Thanks everyone. Interesting! That finish looks almost a bit...dare I say it...sparkly in some of those pics (particularly the head stock).

It also looks like a sort of metallic grey type colour in those pics.

Is that actually a true reflection of reality because if it is, I have another colour to add to my wish list.:)

So come on you little tease, spill the beans on No3 ?

Have you really gone and bought a 3rd JP6 ?

I was talking with Chiggins about your rationale for owning 2 of the same puppies.
It makes sense to have a backup guitar that is the same as your main one (and to that end if anyone in the U.K. has an Axis going cheap, ideally a hardtail then bear me in mind !)but a 3rd ?

how hard are you hitting those strings Bungo ?

The wife left our v. nice Canon EOS 350 on the sideboard next to a vase of lilies. Goo drips down from lilies all over camera. Pop up flash facility gummed up. Currently looking for receipt in order to take camera back for repair/replace. Bit irate. Promise I'll sort out pics of guitars once the camera is feeling a bit better.

Well JP#3 is going to be an Autumn Red JP6 recently liberated from Ebay in the US and sold on to me by the legendary ernie1966 of this thread and many others!

I have gone past the rationale phase now and have accepted that I like them, I like lots of different colours that they come in and if I have the chance, I'll buy as many as I can!

At least I know I'm in good company (looks around forum)!:D

Hey DrBob, pinkburst Albert Lee??? PICS!!!! Please!!!

See I'm worried that I've commited a bit of a gaff here.

I've called my Albert a 'Pinkburst' which is what I thought the 'standard' colour that these guitars came in in the early days.

It's a translucent red which is a bit less dense in the middle of the guitar than out at the edges and so kind of looks a bit pink in the middle going out to a really vivid red at the edges.

It looks the same as the one that Albert Lee himself played in the early publicity photo's for the guitar.

When I first bought it I thought it was Red but I think I saw one described somewhere as a Pinkburst and so assumed that was the correct name for it.

So Robelinda, I hope you're not waiting on pics of some super rare flamingo pink
AL, because although it's a cracking guitar it's pretty standard to look at.

As for Bungo's new red beauty.

Very happy for you fella, don't think for one second I'm having a go. If I were in a position to do so I'd currently be sporting an arsenal of these things that stretched off over the horizon line.
It's only the need to pay the mortgage and further to that my wifes bizarre and entirely unreasonable request that we furnish the house with things other than Musicmans that stops me.....

Don't worry, didn't think for one second that you were having a go old fella, I think my reply may have looked more abrupt in type that it was meant.:D

I've just given up on the house etc. With 2 small boys continuously trashing the place it's a bit pointless anyway.

One day I'll post a pic of our landing carpet. This will go a long way to show how the GAS is affecting other purchases!:D
