I have both a 4 H and a 4 HH Bongo. I love them both. Both are great and I have no complaints about either one. I wouldn't really say one is better over the other but the 4 H is definitely different and just has something about it that is really hard to describe. It's just got a certain character about it that is hard to describe but makes you love it. My 4 HH probably has more versatility in tonal capabilities but there are certain tones that are unique to that 4 H that you can't get in any other bass.
The one I really like though is my Bongo 4 Hp. I've only had mine but 3 or 4 weeks now so I am still getting familiar with it but I freaking love everything about that bass. Between it and my Bongo 4 H, it is too close of a toss up as to which one I like the best. But I do know that out of all of the basses that I own, I love my Bongo 4 H and 4 Hp the best.

Well said Jay. It's just a different beast than the HH - and an awesome beast it is. It's a unique instrument all its own in the EBMM lineup.

If I remember correctly, the H Bongo has one advantage over the HH. The H pup is in the "SWEET SPOT," whereas the HH misses that mark slightly. I guess it really makes the H sing a little sweeter than the HH.

Every time I tried HH Bongo I finished with blend knob in about sweetspot tone balance position!
For me single H (NHF please)!

Well, see,you said it yourself... You can get that "sweetspot" (Actually, I think that's an imaginary place in one's mind-considering the incredible breadth of eq when you take note of the whole signal chain- bass, amp, fingers, brain, chops, etc.)
Sweetspot? Maybe in tennis, or on a baseball bat, but on the instrument...with a blend control......I dunno.SO seeing as one can reach that "sweetspot" using the pup blend, it would follow that the HH
