Hi, can anyone tell me what is the best thing to use to clean the fretboard on my StingRay5?
Its maple and its not like a thick glossy varnished finish, its a more smooth satin finish so im worried about using the wrong thing and it staining or damaging the wood. Would lem oil be ok?
Any general maintainance tips would be greatly appreciated!

I got a used SR4 with maple board today, and it needs cleaning. I´ve read lem oil and if needed fine fine sanding. Mine seems kind of dry, so maybe not too much oil???

This has been covered many times.

No no no! No lemon oil!

But the Wonder Wipes will do the trick. Be sure to wipe off any access liquid when you're done so that the maple doesn't absorb it.

PS- I notice you avatar. Awesome bass, especially with that white pickup against the black pickguard. Very nice!

I can also vouch for the Wonder Wipes.

I tried them for the first time just a few days ago on my recently acquired used Stingray. It also has an unfinished maple neck and board, and was looking pretty grey and disgusting. The Wonder Wipes worked very well. It's not a miraculous change (I guess because the previous owner's hand gunk is well and truly absorbed into the wood?) but the board definitely looks cleaner and more yellow now.

W-Wipes

I was originally told not to use them on maple boards/necks but was enlightened. They are, well "wonderful" I would give a quick wipe with a dry cloth after the wipe part, and you'll be good to go.

Ahh many thanks, it originally came with a white pearloid scratchplate which also looks pretty cool, but i like the black:)

Ye i had been ummming and ahhhing about the lem-oil, on rosewood i wouldn't hesitate but wasn't sure it was ok for the maple. Thanks for the tip, i'll be getting me some wonderwipes then!
