Inspired by another forumite's post and not wanting to hijack his, I pose the question. I'll go first. I haven't mentioned I bought the Tech 21 Fly Rig 5 (got it for $230) or a Big Nano Muff ($67). I'm slowly assembling a 100% USA made pedalboard. Your turn! :D

When I first got it - it was my hardtail EVH.

I told the wife I was attending a meeting 4 hours drive away, when infact I drove 8 hours to Scotland to get it!!

Ironically my mate (OlPlayer) thought that I was hatching a ruse with his wife to get the EVH for him!!!!!! NO WAY PAL!!!

Well, I hide nothing ... I don't know how to lie and my wife is very clever (and she knows me quite a lot).

The only thing I hid from her is when I organized a trip to Venezia for her birthday. She did not find it ... or perhaps she was kind to let me think that she was surprised !

I think that it was probably not the best time for the buy, but i got it for less than half of its real value! GC had no idea of its value.

I just stashed away my 2001 JEM7VWH. Part of the deal with me ordering my latest JP6 Koa was that I was going to sell the JEM. Well, I gave it some serious thought, but it has too much sentimental value to me still (was given to me by my father who passed away a couple years ago). As far as she knows it was sold via craigs list ;) A few years from now I'll pull it out and claim it is a different one that I just picked up used. She'll never know the difference - she has the worst memory out of everyone I know!

Not really hiding. I had a Marshall Class 5 sitting in my office and a few days ago it magically became a DSL40c.

My wife and I have conversations about everything we purchase for ourselves. It just a simple "Hey, I'm buying this right now." Obviously it a lot different when buying 3k dollar guitars but still, it's just a conversation. She let me get a Majesty 7 and I love her so much for it because, being a new home owner, that money definitely could have gone elsewhere but, Priorities right? ;)
I'll post a NGD soon! I just don't have a decent enough camera right now to post them! But hands down the most amazing guitar ever!

I generally don't hide anything. That said I still haven't said anything about the voodoo lab gcp or power conditioner yet.

Not that she has a problem with it, as I'm joining a band and there actual needs not just gas. Our rule has always been if you have the $ you can buy what you want.

well... my wife is an absolute babe...

she grew up in a musicians household and is a musician herself (though she doesn't play much anymore) so she understands the needs for tools to do what i do. When we were dating i found my dream guitar and had just bought the engagement ring so was short on cash for the rest of the month... so i was going to pass up on my mint green silo special. On my way to work i got a text from her saying check my pay-pal account... she sent me cash to cover my guitar.
She also bought me a dr z 112 extension cab because she knew it was a great price and matched my other dr z stuff...
This last year in January i was talking with a friend about NAMM and going the 8 hours down... i called her at work... and i said "babe- got an opportunity to go NAMM..." before i could finish up the sentence and ask if she was cool with it... she said "DUH! yeah go... and you leave this Friday?"
SOO... needless to say she's pretty much down with my musical gear so i don't have to hide purchases...

I did however sell my Taylor acoustic and didn't tell her about it and she freaked out thinking it was stolen. She called me freaked out... she was pretty mad about that one... and she had the "WE DON"T SELL GEAR" talk...

Wow. I've been married 17 years and the only thing guitar related my wife has ever bought me was some picks on Christmas.
