I can count 10 changes from the EVH to the Wolf that would give these people enough to argue about for weeks...

angled headstock
15" radius
wider neck
taller frets
4 bolts instead of 5
carved top
angled neck
pickups sound noticeably different
tone knob
MUCH different trem arm assembly (which I don't like and changed on my Special by the way)

These seem like enough to qualify the Wolf as it's own animal and not just an "aped" EVH. And again, they were both designed by the same guy so surely something would be similar. No?
Well, when you're right, you're right. :p ...BUT, they do LOOK alike! ;)

Either that or those 10 points were changed for the mass public's benefit to avoid an incident called.....trademark infringement. :D

You guys are good sports.

The most striking similarity to me is the tight, compact feel when you play them. He was definately going for a similar geometry with both guitars.

p.s. I forgot to mention the graphite reinforcement rods in the neck. That's 11

:D

Speaking of "sports", what I get a giggle about is that the Wolfgang Special is really basically just the Peavey version of the Axis Sport, albeit in basswood instead of ash...the latter being the better tonewood IMHO, but I'm just a leeeeetle biased.... :D

Nice score, Jimi! I've also always been a fan of those metallic gold shades on everything from Les Pauls to Strats, but it looks especially sweet on this guy (which EBMM isn't dong anymore - and sorry, Medallion Gold ain't as nice to my eye, either....<grrrrr > .... ):
