Following BP waxing poetic on the occasional foibles of the guitar manufacturing process, I was just curious. What happens to those items where something went wrong?

Does EBMM ever clearance anything like factory seconds or blems (indicated as such) or do the QC practices not let imperfect models out while re-processing the individual parts that were not affected?

Also what happens to the demo items used for NAMM and other similar shows?

Just wondering?

On a similar note, I'm curious what happens to the signature prototypes - I understand that the artist usually goes through an extended development procedure - what happens to all those guitars that were not quite right?

Things that cannot be used as production items (2nds) are used for artist instruments, or are cut up. Prototypes are saved.

I'd love to see the various stages of an artist instrument - perhaps BP will unlock the vault at some stage and post some pics of the changes to the instruments as feedback was received etc
