First of all: Hello :)

Well, my question is: How much is a JP6 with piezos (and withough piezos) worth used?
I want to buy a better sixstring than my Schecter Hellraiser and due to the fact that some of my most favorite songs were recorded with a JP guitar (not only DT, but also some new stuff like Periphery) I cast an eye on this EBMM.

Thank you,
Tim :)

I am located in Germany. I would even import a JP6 from the states if its cheaper!
Man... 1000USD for a JP6 is great... like 700€. Would buy immediately!

The Periphery album's 6-string parts were all recorded with a Blackmachine B6, Mischa mentioned that just the other day in a post on Facebook, just FYI. His Bulb material though; that's another story. All New Materials etc. were on a JP6 :D

I've seen used JP6s as low as 650$! You'd probably have to take into account shipping + your massive import fees and find if the price difference will be worth it :)

Yes, shipping is VERY expensive (~$350 if you use UPS or FedEx, though I won't trust anyone else) and you pay customs charges and full VAT on the declared value of the instrument PLUS the shipping charges (that's how it works in France anyway). Allow 25% on top of the guitar and shipping costs. If you buy a guitar for US$1000 it'll cost you over €1100 before it gets to your door. Depending on the model and condition of the guitar, it can still be cheaper than buying used in Europe.

Yeah, you are right about the Periphery album! Ive just remembered, the 7 string parts were recorded with a JP7, right?
Were have you seen them for 650USD? So, I can search them there!
Well, last year I bought a Schecter Hellraiser from Mauery on ebay. I paid 80USD for the shipping via - USPS Express Mail International. Thats a price I can live with or was it a special price?
For my last guitar from the US I paid (Price + Shipping)+ 25% of all (taxes etc.) .yeah its expensive.

I avoided USPS because in France the guitar would be handled by Chronopost and I will never let them NEAR a guitar! There are also other issues to be looked into - if something happens to the guitar in transit how much money can you reclaim, can you track the package etc?

Ah okay. In germany DHL takes the package. Tracking is possible and the guitar is covered with 500€ AFAIK!
I need to prove that.

I think some of them were, but not 100% certain. The 650$ one was on eBay; just a couple minor scratches etc. On average I see people asking between 950-1250 for used JP6s, on eBay/this forum/sevenstring.org and other places.

The insurance is another thing that would add to the price :S Do you know anyone in the USA that could pick one up and bring it? That's usually the best option, albeit an added hassle for them :p

Unfortunately not. I don´t have contacts in the US, maybe a buddy that wants to go there in a year or something <-- Thats too long for me haha.
My calculation would be like (1000USD + 80USD for shipping)*1,25 for taxes / 1,45USD/€ = 931€

This beautiful JP6 went for 1011€. Its in mint condition and LTD, too.
Can you find a reasonHm, maybe I should watch both markets US and European. why this great model went for only 1000€? Or is it normal?

I picked up a Fully loaded Mystic dream - had some minor issues and it had been resprayed white. It owes me just a little under £600.
I managed to get it back to it's original colour - see links to my JP6 in my sig.

If (I can dream) they brought out a HHH AL with gamechanger I'd let the JP6 go to fund it.

I saw a similar guitar to mine without Piezo for sale £1500 in Newcastle UK - it was in great condition.

Hmm 80$ shipping is cheap, with what company do you want to ship it? I have to ship my guitar also to Germany and at a Post Office they told me without insurance about 120$ for the guitar.

It was a craigslist listing and fellow knucklehead Fsmith lived around the corner. He went "beyond the call of duty" on this one!!
Initial visit - then reported back on issues. Haggled the guy down to $600. Got the original pickup off him and swopped it over.
Posted it to me - was VERY patient over bloody Pay Pal problems.

Anyways I had to replace Piezo saddles replace the Piezo switch and ended up sanding it back.
Loads of my time invested in it, and it plays VERY nice now I have gone from 9's to 10's.

It's a really nice guitar - but as I say if a HHH AL with Piezo, trem and gamechanger came up I'd be all over it like a rash, and I'm afraid that one of my balls would have to go.
