Mine came directly from the EB factory without tools, too. I had to send it back for repair and requested tools in my note to Jon.

I, too, have about 50 million allen wrenches in my collection, but for me it's more the principle of the matter. A guitar this nice and at this price point should include the necessary tools. ;) I mean, a $150 Squire strat comes with all the appropriate allen wrenches. :D

It's nit picky, yes, but little details like that are important for a premiere guitar builder. My friend who just bought a JP no longer has any other guitars, it is his main squeeze and he received no tools. He had to go to Home Depot and buy some allen wrenches so he could adjust the action. He was amazed that a $1300 guitar couldn't come with two .50 cent wrenches. :D

Now, the truss rod adjustment on the other hand, is simply genius! I wish every guitar builder would copy that! That thing has me spoiled. :)

Don't know where you bought your JP, but I know in my area the local shops, split the guitar, the case and any tools or whatnot that comes with them, and then try and sell them seperately. The only reason I got everything that is supposed to come in the case (and the case) with my Axis was because I'd already checked with Ernie Ball and knew the deal. I had to argue for it though. They wanted another $180 for the case, $20 for the tools/cloth and extra springs....

They (EB) told me at the time to expect the case, allen wrenches for the trem, nut and trussrod wheel. Extra springs for the trem, a polishing cloth and keys for the case. I'm sure I still have the e-mail somewhere....

We do not include any wrenches except with a guitar equipped with the Floyd Rose bridge. The JP should have 2 extra springs. That's all. We have not included wrenches in quite some time.
