I've got an Axis S.S. and an A.L. MM90. I also have a MIM Tele that I like, but the neck is just too wide, and well, not an E.B. neck :D What does Ernie Ball offer that can make me want to take down the Tele, and replace it?

My Neptune blue Luke three has a snap and brightness to it that my other Luke three does not have

Just based on the wood combinations (I haven't played them), I'd say a regular Albert Lee (ash body with maple neck/fretboard) or a silhouette (alder body with maple neck/fretboard). Best to play them yourself to see if they match your view of "bright."

Especially the real old ones, i played a real 1950s tele in the platinum room here in Boston and it was ten times brighter and snappier that new usa teles, and light as a feather too!

Not played all models but would say Albert Lee. It is my brightest guitar. Brighter than my Telecaster with RW-fretboard.

My Neptune Morse is ridiculously bright. But then again, I put in a DiMarzio Evo... not the best choice... Once I am outta school my boss is going to give me a crash course through soldering so that I can just replace the pickup back myself.

Darn, you picked the right artist, but the wrong signature pickup for such a bright guitar...I put a Gravity Storm in my Albert and it is a much darker sounding pickup than the Evo. I love it.

When you desolder the pickup, you should use a copper desoldering braid (sometimes called a wick) to suck up and absorb the old solder (just in case your boss forgets to tell you about that). Good luck!

I know, right! The Evo sounded like exactly what I was looking for, especially maybe on my old Y2D, but it utterly over compensated on the PDN.

I work for a freelance sound company with a lot of electricians in it, so while I'm pretty sure my colleagues will cover what I need, I'll keep that in mind if it is something they don't cover. Thanks - yet another reason this is a great forum!
