Just the basics: how long, what's covered?

I'm asking because of the issues I've posted with the factory string height and am considering making a call to EB to discuss.

I'd hate to have to pack up my JP and send it all the way back to Cali from NY. I waited 4 months for her and have had her about 3 months and change. But I can't help but think she doesn't play quite as well as some i've played in stores.

Personally, I never had a prob with any of my Pets. However, anything can happen. OC could tell ya that! He had to send his Desert Gold Pet back for repair. I know he got the "rockstar" treatment and all is well. I believe if you call them, they will fix the problem either, over the phone with you if it is something easy, or they will have you send it to them. I think you have to pay to ship it to them, but they ship it back. Do not quote me on that, I do not work for them. But, their customer service is second to none. Good luck.

Hopefully OC or someone who has sent in their axe can comment and give you better insight than me.

Guitars change, and a guitar needs a good setup every year and tweaks every few months in my experience. Learn to do it yourself and you can save yourself a whole lot of money. Even if your guitar's under warranty, the idea of shipping it half way across the country because you think your string height is too high seems a little extreme to me... It's probably just a set-up issue; neck relief, string height at the bridge, intonation, etc. There are many excellent books on the subject out there. Any of Dan Erlewine's, for instance, will have you setting up your own guitars in no time flat...

I'll probably call them just to see what they suggest. I mean, I certainly can lower the bridge but only the treble side feels high so I would imagine they would suggest lowering the individual saddles as opposed to one side of the bridge, etc.

Maybe I just don't like .010s on this guitar.

I know what you're talking about, because I put 9's on it a while back (I'm not used to playing with 9's, that's just what I thought were on it for some reason) and it felt really fast, and the action was pretty low. It was so low that I actually got some buzzing and note muffling. Well, turns out it came with 10's so I through a set of 10's back on it and buzzing and muffling are now gone! But I did notice that the action of the high E and B DID seem to be a little higher than normal. But it's nothing I don't think I can't get used to.

If I were you, I would suggest putting some 9's on it and getting is set up that way. See if you like that better; if not you can always go back to 10's and take it from there. But I do see what you mean.
