As an avid Strat Player, for many years infact. I have played pretty much every model strat there is, and had every pick-up set-up too, everything from standard strat pups, through to EMG's. I play my 82 JV 62 Squire occasionally now, very very occasionally infact.
I am a new convert to EB MM and can tell ya that ther is no going back, once you have a Ball in ya hands, you will wonder why you didnt discover MM a lot sooner! Build quality, sound, playability, its all there.
With F****r, all I found was inconsistency and disappointment. There was always sommat amiss, even the best I played always had something that annoyed me. With a MM, everything has been thought of, from the machinehead's too the finish, its the dogs.
Welcome to the forum mate, and a better playing experience.
When I was looking for an American F****r here in the UK it was almost impossible and the MIM models where pretty scarce as well. I was told the best thing to do was get on a dealer's waiting list, for the lefties, these varied from 4 to 6 months.

These necks are fast, smooth, amazing and the greatest of all around the world
I am playing guitar over 28 years and since I own my first EVH in 1994 I have never been change these brand. My family of ball's grew up.
IMHO nothing beats the looks and the feels of oiled and hand waxed finishes of EBMM necks !
I now gladly own 4 different necks (including the matching rests of the instruments ) and OMG, I am selling off all my other stuff...
